For the past few years I knew I wanted to have a blog. I have actually had a couple blogs before this one but I never stuck with them and nothing came out of them. The problem was I didn’t really know what I wanted to blog about. My ideas were all over the place but I knew that I wanted to have a focus I just didn’t know what.
Recently my husband and I were talking about our goals in life and what we wanted to do while we’re still young. We love to hike and be outdoors and while it is still possible to do these things in your 60’s or 70’s when many people are able to retire we would rather be able to do them now.
From our twenties, my college degrees, and various other things we accumulated a lot of debt. Debt is like PRISON and you’re in there until your it is paid in full. We needed to have this gone like ASAP. While we have pretty good jobs and we can keep making our payments like usual I wanted this paid off a lot faster. To do this I figured I would need to find ways to make extra money that I can use to pay our debt down. Also finding ways to reduce our spending. My husband has his own side business of doing IT work so I figured that there’s some way I can bring in extra money myself.
While brainstorming ideas with my husband on what I could do he mentioned that I should take knowledge from my career, my degree, and my experiences and share them with everyone. This is how I came up with The Financialholic.
I am hoping that with this blog I can inspire someone to take the step to pursue their dreams and not let something like debt hold them back. What steps are you taking to pursue your dreams?
